Shane Comer
When Shane began playing music in the fifth grade he was a trumpeter. He picked up the saxophone and teased a bit on the drums in the Jazz ensemble in high school, but it wasn't until the formation of Electric Hazard (with musical compatriot Nate) that his efforts were focused on playing drums. The success of "Hazard" ranged from local shows to a live morning interview on a Portland radio program. One of their songs was selected for use on a popular Boston morning TV show. After the triumph of this preternaturally successful high school band, college brought him to Montreal where he earned his degree in psychology and continued to play drums. He performed in the band Why Zeed, which played local college campuses and clubs alike. Once Shane returned home to the States, he and Nate reunited to form Superfrog with steadfast, bordering on pathological, devotion.
"When Nate and I decided to form a band we knew the purpose of it was to make something real," says Shane. "We wanted to create the band not just for fun, but as something we could put out into the world, something that would last." With he and Nate steering the ship, Shane says whether it is playing with 8 others onstage, or just him and Nate ripping on drums and base, Superfrog will be a force to be reckoned with long into the future.
