Nate Proper
Having played music from the age of eight, Nate brings a full range of musical qualifications to the band. As the bassist for Superfrog, his primary influences are Les Claypool, Victor Wooten and Flea. Though these musicians stand out as paradigms for him, he relies heavily on jam band greats such as Phish, The Grateful Dead and moe. to guide him on his melodic journey. Self taught in music theory and the keyboard from a very young age, Nate has been around music for most of his life. He studied percussion at the University of Connecticut for nearly three years before leaving to pursue music full time. While at school, he was elected to the position of principal percussionist and had the chance to play Carnegie Hall. Nate's extensive percussion abilities interwoven with his love of the bass and the jam scene provide the perfect synthesis of musical talent.
