How much does it cost?
The compensation amount, or “cost” of the services is based on a percentage that will be negotiated at the time of drawing up your contract. Generally, 15% is the asking price for most young bands and relatively unknown artists. This 15% is of your Gross Compensation in the music industry. Gross Compensation does not necessarily mean the “Gross Amount” that comes through the door. Many factors play into the designing of the parameters for Gross Compensation and will be detailed in your Contract.

How long does the services last?
As a general rule, the actual contract itself will not last more than 2 years, with an original option in the contract for an additional 2 years. Some circumstances may extend contracts to 3 years with a 2 year option, and sometimes they may exist for 1 year with a 1 year option. Each individual contract will be handled on a case by case basis. Please note: All contracts will have a Post Term Income defined for compensation due after the term of the contract has expired. This also is scheduled on an individual basis. There is no set clause aside from the all PTI will end after the fifth year of Post Contract terms.

Is there a contract to sign?
Yes. All artists are required to sign a contract before services will begin. This not only protects our vested interest in you, it also protects you as well. Our contracts highlight the all of the terms of our agreement including length of the contract, compensation amounts, usage of services provided, tour and show scheduling, PTI terms, accounting and legal considerations. You have every right to examine, edit and decline all contract offerings, however, services to be provided will not begin until all members of the band have agreed upon the contract and have signed a copy of it.

What is PTI and do I have to have it?
PTI is also known as “Post Term Income” This term begins on the first day after the last day of the actual contract and ends within a 5 year period after that. The PTI takes into consideration all of the time, money and effort put into making your band known. Any record contracts signed or merchandising arrangements made during our contract term fall into one specific category. All other arrangements that are made AFTER the contract fall into a different category. The basis of PTI is not to stick it to you after the contract is finished .. it is a cap that limits the amount received from all agreements made during and after your contract. Remember, ALL income ceases after the fifth year in the post term.

How far can you take my band?
That is entirely up to you. If you focus on the music as a career, putting in the effort necessary to reach the top, I will also do my part to give you that status. We are only limited by the success of the music created. Work at this as a career and you will climb the ladder naturally. Part of the service is to introduce your music to industry professionals, assist in booking your band with regional and national acts to put you in front of larger crowds, advertise and merchandise your band as often possible. You create the music and show up when required keeping a sound mind and try to expand your reach as well and you could have a platinum record.

Are you an A&R Rep?
No. we do not do A&R work for a recording company. We will however assist on introducing you to the A&R personnel when the time is right. A&R Reps will come out to meet you if the sound is something they are looking to sell. The recording industry is quite fickle about what it sells and it may be some time before an A&R rep comes to us, but that is why we will go to them. Polishing your sound so it is as crisp as possible is our first task, then selling it to the A&R people is next.
